LCSW Exam Preparation

The National Association of Social Workers offers Licensed Clinical Social Worker Exam Preparatory Courses twice a year (Spring and Fall). Each session is worth 5 hours of CE credit. The Sessions are intense and informative, and the responses have been very positive.

Course Description

This training is designed for anyone seeking to prepare for the LCSW/ASWB social work license exam. We will explore alternative learning styles that incorporate experiential components as well as a combination of partner, small group, and large group activities. Instead of simply reading and reviewing material, we will collectively participate in fun and engaging ways so the content "sticks" in your mind. The session will cover practice theory, social work terminology, therapeutic strategies, treatment, practice techniques, ethics, social work values, DSM, psychopharmacology, and diversity sensitive practice. We will review helpful practice test questions including actual questions designed by ASWB.

Smith University School of Social Work. She has over 15 years experience working with a wide variety of populations with extensive training in patterns of domestic violence, family systemic therapy, self-injurious behaviors and leadership development. Her experience ranges from working with traumatic brain injured children, counseling incarcerated adult males, partnering with elders experiencing vision loss, intensive in-home family therapy and holding various supervisory and leadership positions.
